Liverpool is strengthening massively, Chelsea is buying up the rest of the world
When else would an article about transfers be published than at the start of the summer transfer window! And it must be said that there was again a lot to watch. As always, the Premier League was the most active, but our Czech league is not far behind.
The Reds are going to destroy the rest of the world!
And no, this is not clickbait. Liverpool is currently on track to become the best team in the world for a long time. Thanks to their extraordinary financial condition, where they can pay up to 700 million euros for players. And massive investments are being made in the squad.
Following the transfers of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, Liverpool have signed young defenders Miloš Kerkez from Bournemouth and Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. Both players have played key roles for their clubs in recent seasons and have also been regulars for the national team.
Liverpool have already paid over 200 million euros for these four players and are definitely not stopping with their reinforcements. They are still in talks with Newcastle about Alexander Isak, and his compatriot Viktor Gyökeres is also available. Liverpool are simply incredible.
Chelsea are throwing away their game again
Chelsea are once again circumventing Financial Fair Play rules with long-term contracts and are now spending like crazy again. They are bringing in their sixth and seventh (!) summer signings, namely Englishman Jamie Gittens from Dortmund and Brazilian Joao Pedro from Brighton. Todd Boehly will pay around 115 million euros for these two players.
The Blues are once again expanding their squad in an unprecedented way, which is nice to have a wide roster, but here it looks more like Todd Boehly doesn't know where to spend his money. Every transfer window, Chelsea brings in a bunch of players, and when another coach says he doesn't even know how many players he has on the roster, he can direct his complaints to the club owner.
And the previous signings? Liam Delap, Estevao, Kendry Páez, Dário Essugo, Mamadou Sarr and Geovany Quenda coming next year. If Chelsea think their young players can handle so much competition and limited space on the pitch, then good luck to them.
Talent for Manchester United
Manchester United are taking a new approach to their player search, instead of looking for superstars, they want to go with a clear concept and a bet on the future. That's why they have signed talented full-back Diego León from Cerro Porteno.
The 18-year-old Paraguayan should be the number two on the left wing-back behind Patrick Dorgue, Leon is a very fast and assertive defender who is no stranger to attacking runs or overlaps on his side. And that is exactly what coach Amorim needs.
United are also expected to bring in Bryan Mbeum from Brentford and goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa in the near future, and are still struggling with a lack of attacking talent. That is why they are negotiating for players such as Viktor Gyökeres, Hugo Ekitiké and Ollie Watkins. In addition, Éderson from Atalanta should strengthen the midfield after key departures. Will United return to the limelight?
Movements in the Czech league
Three clubs from the elite four of the Czech league are once again making big signings. Former Opava, Liberec and Slavia player Christ Tiéhi has announced a big return to the Czech league, who will wear the jersey of Baník Ostrava. Slavia brought Daiki Hashioka from Luton to the edge of the defense and also brought in young Slovak Dominik Javorček. Experienced full-back Pavel Kadeřábek, whose contract at Hoffenheim has expired, has announced a big return to Sparta.
Liberec and Olomouc are finally strengthening their squad, with the North Bohemian club bringing in Filip Špatenka from Dukla and two young players from Mladá Boleslav , Lukáš Mašek and Vojtěch Stránský. Olomouc, where our goalkeepers Tadeáš Stoppen and Jan Koutný also play, won the battle with Baník Ostrava for Dominik Janošek, who was looking for a job after his contract in the Netherlands expired.
